Job summary

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Brattleboro, Vermont, seeks a Staff Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role involves night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am in a fast-paced 13-bed ED that handles a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions.

The ED operates with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, NP/PA, ED techs, and float resources, providing triage, interventions, stabilization, and patient education for both adults and children.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
• Experience/skills: Recent Emergency Department/Critical Care experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse licensed in Vermont; BLS; ACLS within 3 months; PALS within 6 months; TNCC within 1 year; CEN/STABLE/ENPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage, initial and ongoing assessment, and nursing interventions using the nursing process.
• Provide discharge teaching to adult and pediatric patients requiring emergent/urgent or critical care.
• Collaborate with ED physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, ED Techs, and ancillary teams.
