Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join the Sentara Leigh Hospital ED in Norfolk, VA. The role supports physicians and nurses during emergency and minor care, performing procedures under supervision and helping implement care plans.

The position is part-time (24 hours/week) on the night shift, with required certifications and de-escalation training completed within specified timelines. A comprehensive benefits package is included for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must have clinical experience.
• EMT-B certification or state/national certification at time of hire OR equivalent.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses in implementing plans of care for emergency patients.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Assist with de-escalation and physical intervention when needed within 15 days of hire.
