Job summary

UofL Health’s Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator provides clinical patient care support under the direction of an RN, performing phlebotomy, EKG, trauma and respiratory tasks while handling clerical duties and admissions in multiple computer systems.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant/EMT program, or nursing student experience; prior healthcare exposure preferred; night shifts are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT training program.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measures intake/output, vital signs and patient monitoring.
• Transports patients and specimens as needed.
• Performs phlebotomy and 12-lead EKG under the direction of the RN.
• Documents orders and updates patient records across systems.
• Supports safety checks, infection control, and patient mobility.
