Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to support RN staff through clinical care tasks, clerical duties, and patient transport in a fast-paced ED setting. The role requires accurate charting, venipuncture, EKGs, and adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with preferred completion of a Clinical Assistant/MA/EMT program or nursing coursework. BLS is required, CNA/CMA/EMT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• Completion of a Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT program, or nursing students who completed fundamentals (preferred).
• BLS certification required; CNA/CMA/EMT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical patient care support under RN direction.
• Document intake/outputs, vitals, and patient assessments.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG lead placement and basic respiratory tasks.
