Job summary

UofL Health's South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY seeks an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to support RNs with direct patient care, triage, phlebotomy, EKGs, and transport. You will assist with admissions, charting, and equipment setup in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT program; nursing fundamentals preferred.
• BLS certification is required by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Measure intake/output, vital signs, and patient safety checks.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG lead placement and venipuncture under RN direction.
• Transcribe orders and manage patient charts in hospital systems.
• Assist with admissions/discharges and transport of patients and specimens.
• Set up equipment and maintain infection control and safety standards.
