Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to provide clinical patient care support under the direction of an RN. The role includes phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, trauma care, and respiratory support, along with clerical duties and admission/discharge tasks.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and training as a Clinical Assistant/MA/EMT, or nursing coursework completed; CNA/CMA/EMT certification and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program, or Nursing Students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Course from an accredited school of nursing is preferred.
• Certification as CNA, CMA or EMT is preferred; BLS is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical patient care support under RN direction.
• Assists with admitting, discharging patients in multiple systems; performs phlebotomy, EKG, and wound care.
• Transcribes orders and communicates with providers; ensures accurate patient information in the hospital system.
