Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to provide clinical support under the direction of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include patient care, phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, and assisting with admissions, discharges, and clerical duties in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/equivalent (required).
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program, or Nursing Students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Course from an accredited school of nursing (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist RN/RT with patient care, intake and discharge processes, and documentation in hospital systems.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, wound care and routine venipuncture under supervision.
• Transport supplies and patients; stock trauma rooms and maintain equipment sanitation per infection control policies.
• Transcribe physician orders, assist in admission/discharge activities, and support department workflows.
