Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join our on-site team on the night shift (11:00 PM–11:00 AM). The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with EMT-B or equivalent certification and BLS within 90 days. Prior ED tech experience at Sentara is valued.

This is a full-time, 36-hour week position at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Candidates must meet the listed certification criteria or be enrolled in a clinical program and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
• Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR
• Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
• Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.
