Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for the Adult Emergency Department. Under RN supervision, you will deliver direct clinical and support services in a patient-centered care model, and collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patient and family needs.

The role involves vital signs, hygiene support, wound care, room preparation, and ensuring a safe, well-equipped environment. BMC offers professional growth and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification including CPR is required or obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic math and computer proficiency.
• One of the following: 1 year ED Technician experience, or nursing student with two clinical rotations completed, or completed an ED Technician training, or EMT/field medic experience.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient care interventions for ED patients and families.
• Provide clinical services such as obtaining vital signs, bathing, feeding, dressing wounds, hygiene assistance, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, clean ED environment through environmental and inventory tasks.
• Contribute to efficient ED operations and patient/family outcomes.

Education

Nursing program enrolled with two clinical rotations completed

ED Technician training certification
