Job summary

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for the third shift. The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, with nights from 7pm to 7am, providing crucial support to ED physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses in executing plans of care for emergent and minor patients.

The role involves performing IV starts, EKGs, point-of-care testing, blood cultures, vital signs, and prioritizing arrivals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EMT-B certification or equivalent military hospital corps training.
• Active enrollment in clinical program with at least one completed semester.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physician/NP/PA or nurse in emergency/triage care.
• Perform procedures under supervision (IV starts, EKGs, blood draws).
• Take vital signs and prioritize arrivals.
• Stock and restock ED supplies.
