Job summary

UPMC Jameson is seeking an Emergency Department Patient Services Representative to support patient access and registration in a night-setting. The role requires accurate data entry, insurance verification, and compassionate patient interactions to promote a positive UPMC experience.

You will reconcile ED records, assist with billing responsibilities, and coordinate with clinical partners to ensure smooth admissions while maintaining HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and maintain the Emergency Department Tracking Board and ADT system.
• Register patients into ADT and clinical systems during downtime with accurate data.
• Serve as central resource for ADT registration and problem resolution evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and coordinate benefits to support billing processes.
• Counsel patients on insurance coverage and expected financial liability.
• Collect and record patient payments including co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles.
