Job summary

Cowan Systems, LLC in Maryland is seeking a Dispatch Manager to oversee the daily operations of our driver fleet and ensure on-time freight delivery. This leadership role reports to the Operations Manager or Terminal Manager and focuses on driving driver performance, safety, and service quality.

The Dispatch Manager will coordinate real-time dispatch activities, onboard new drivers, review performance metrics, ensure DOT hours-of-service compliance, and communicate changes to the fleet while

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred or substituted with 4 years of similar experience.
2 years of dispatching CDL Class A truck drivers.
Computer applications experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Dispatch a fleet with real-time freight management and data accuracy.
Onboard new drivers following the 12 week onboarding process.
Review driver scorecards to ensure performance and income goals.
Ensure DOT hours-of-service compliance and driver fitness.
Communicate policy changes and scheduling to the fleet.
Coach and mentor drivers and address performance issues as needed.
