Job summary

Quality Carriers, Inc. is seeking a Driver Operations Specialist in Curtis Bay, Maryland. The role oversees day-to-day driver operations for up to 30 drivers, with on-call shifts and responsibilities spanning dispatch, load planning, and customer service.

You will manage driver schedules, safety compliance, and performance metrics while coordinating with central scheduling and maintenance teams to optimize driver earnings and on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• 4+ years truck transportation industry experience or 4-year degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management position.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with DOT Requirements, CSA expectations and Safety procedures.
• Ability to travel multiple times per year as needed for training and career development purposes.
• Highly proficient computer skills. Must be comfortable using a computer and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch and load plan for drivers and provide customer service.
• Maintain a driver calendar and record home-time requests.
• Discuss safety, compliance and service issues with drivers.
• Review quarterly driver bonus results with employee drivers.
• Perform at least one driver ride-along per quarter.
• Ensure hours of service are updated in the ELD system.
• Coordinate driver utilization with Scheduling and Equipment Planning teams.
• Notify customers of potential and real service issues.
• Plan daily schedules and secure backhauls to maximize efficiency and assets.
• Oversee tank wash scheduling and coordination with maintenance.
