Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking a Data Center Technician II to join the Infrastructure and Operations team. You will support mission-critical data center and IT spaces, handling hardware installations, monitoring infrastructure, and ensuring security procedures in a high-security facility.

Responsibilities include responding to customer inquiries, processing work orders, and coordinating with on-call engineers.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Equivalency: 1 year of higher education can substitute for 1 year of directly related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer phone calls and emails professionally.
• Receive and address work orders to install computer, network and server hardware.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data center infrastructure and customer IT equipment.
• Escalate to on-call staff or data center engineers when needed.
• Perform facility walkthroughs and security procedures for access control.
