Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician in Elk Grove Village, IL. The role focuses on hardware provisioning and the installation/termination of copper and fiber network cabling within a data center environment.

You will configure servers, install operating systems on x86 hardware, and perform cabling and testing with standard tools. The position supports a Friday night/Saturday night schedule with occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience with hardware provisioning and cabling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience reading cabinets and cabling layouts.

Responsibilities

• Use management software and ticketing system to support customers.
• Assign locations and IPs for configurations.
• Install and configure servers; mount devices and cabling.
• Build servers using x86 hardware; install OS (Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu, VMware).
• Configure storage (RAID, file systems) and basic OS storage.
• Perform basic OS admin tasks and connectivity issues.
• Establish LAN and remote access for configurations.
• Configure and deploy network gear and storage devices.
• Terminate and test structured cabling and fiber/copper runs.
• Follow 5S and safety policies and maintain clean work area.
