Job summary

Webhosting is seeking a Datacenter Technician to oversee daily operations and maintenance of the datacenter. The role includes cabinet installation, fiber/copper cabling, and cross-connect management, with shift hours Wednesday to Saturday from 10 pm to 8 am.

The candidate will perform or delegate tasks related to installation, testing and troubleshooting of telecom infrastructure, and handle vendor maintenance and on-site documentation. On-call coverage and rotating shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with copper and fiber media types and industry standards.
• Ability to install and test telecom infrastructure components.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Install cabinets, equipment, and cross-connects to required specs.
• Handle remote hands requests and coordinate vendor maintenance.
• Install and test telecom components including ladder rack, MDF, IDF, switches and cabling.
• Maintain site documentation for cross-connects and power circuits.
• Support 7/24 on-call shifts and responsive incident handling.
