Job summary

Prime Data Centers Corporation is hiring a Critical Operations Technician to join our Elk Grove Village data center team. You will operate, monitor, and maintain critical electrical and mechanical systems, including generators, UPS, PDUs, AHUs, and fire/life-safety equipment, ensuring uptime and safety.

The role is non-exempt, hourly, with overtime eligibility. Night shift is 12 hours (7:00pm–7:00am) with potential coverage shifts; strong safety focus and contractor supervision are required.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of technical training, military training, or workplace equivalency.
• Background in IT, electrical, and/or mechanical.
• Two or more years of work experience in a data center environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment within the data center.
• Troubleshoot facility events within internal SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Ensure safety procedures are followed during all tasks
• Oversee contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
• Monitor Building Management System (BMS) and log critical information
