Job summary
Reboot Monkey is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our Elk Grove Village, IL team. This on-site, full-time role supports critical infrastructure at world-class facilities and requires hands-on experience in data center operations.
You will install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment, perform cabling, monitor environmental systems, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams. On-call rotation and strong documentation are essential.
Qualifications
- 3+ years data center operations experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding environments
- Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, Cisco) preferred
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment
- Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)
- Execute hardware deployments and decommissions
- Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security)
- Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams
- Participate in capacity planning and upgrades
