Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs within a data center environment. The role supports critical operations, with a rotating 12‑hour night shift.

You will inspect mechanical and engineering systems, respond to alarms, and work with vendors to maintain regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has a technical apprenticeship and 1–2 years of related experience, with strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in a technical discipline with 1–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Must meet physical requirements of the role.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and basic IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on data center mechanical and electrical systems.
• Monitor environmental conditions to ensure safe work environments.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with third‑party vendors to meet processes and regulatory requirements.
• Complete planned PM and reactive maintenance on equipment and utilities.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDU and related infrastructure and document results.
