Job summary

Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) with rotating weekends. The RN will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes patient advocacy and adherence to nursing standards, with responsibilities in assessment, education, and care management to support clinical outcomes and department performance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional nursing
• Current TX RN license or compact license
• Current BLS issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• CCRN preferred
• Experience with high acuity ICU medical/surgical patients highly preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Critical Care in an acute care hospital within the last 3 years required, prefer 2+ years

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures and prepares for self-management.
• Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet quality measures and enhance patient care.
• Coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care with the care team.
