Job summary

College of New Caledonia in Prince George, BC is seeking a Custodian (Leave Replacement) to join Facilities Services. The role focuses on night shifts, performing cleaning, restocking supplies, and maintaining floors and equipment to ensure high cleanliness standards across CNC campuses.

The position requires a minimum of grade 10, 6 months+ custodial experience, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Training on WHMIS, safety, and lift operation may be provided.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more custodial experience in institutional or commercial setting.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment and chemicals used.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Bonding and a criminal records check may be required.
• Willingness to become certified to operate scissor/boom lift.
• WHMIS and Violence in the Workplace training as required by Worksafe BC.
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work within and contribute to a proactive team environment.
• Physical ability to complete job demands.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, stairwells, washrooms, and windows; move furniture as needed.
• Perform floor maintenance: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, finishing.
• Disinfect washrooms and common areas; handle recycling.
• Provide laundry support for uniforms and linens.
• Restock supplies and restock from inventory.
• Operate custodial equipment and maintain tools.
• Assist with emergency procedures and building safety.
• Support Facilities Management as assigned.
