Job summary

Sgfcsd is seeking a Custodian for a full-time, 12-month night shift (2:30-11:00pm) to perform a wide range of custodial duties in school facilities. The role requires knowledge of cleaning practices and the ability to complete minor repairs as needed.

Responsibilities include cleaning, setup for activities, groundskeeping tasks, and assisting with maintenance of heating systems. The position offers benefits under the current CSEA contract and requires current civil service eligibility or exam

Qualifications

• One year of experience in building cleaning and minimal maintenance.
• Physical condition suitable for custodial tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, restrooms, corridors, entrances and sidewalks.
• Dust desks, woodwork and furniture; sweep, mop and wax floors.
• Wash windows and empty wastebaskets; collect rubbish.
• Set up areas for activities and tear down after use.
• Make minor repairs to furniture, fixtures, windows, locks and heating systems.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies economically.
• Assist in groundskeeping tasks and snow/ice removal as needed.
• Receive, move and store school supplies; arrange chairs and tables for events.
• Perform additional custodial tasks as assigned by supervisors.
