Mercyhealth is seeking an EMT for Critical Care Transport in Rockford, IL. The role focuses on pre-hospital basic life support, documentation, and rapid transport of critically ill or injured patients across Mercyhealth facilities.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in a busy 911 system.
• National Registry Certificate Required.
• EMT License in State of Practice (IL/WI) within 90 days.
• BLS/CPR required within 90 days.
• NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and Hazmat within 90 days.
• EVOC Driving course completion within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides pre-hospital basic life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility.
• Maintains thorough patient care documentation (TraumaSoft/Epic) in a timely manner.
• Performs basic skills and procedures as approved by Mercyhealth.
• Maintains documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, and safety training.
• Transports non-monitored patients to in-patient units.
• Floats to outlying Mercyhealth facilities based on identified needs.
