Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a Critical Care Tech to support patients under RN supervision on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, documenting care, and ensuring safety and quality patient care.

The position requires completion of PCT training and certification, plus BLS and CPCT-A credentials where applicable. 7PM-7AM shifts, with three shifts weekly, including every 3rd weekend and select holidays.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and have an active Patient Care Technician Certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPCT-A certification acceptable.
• Phlebotomy and EKG competency must be completed during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and support the care plan.
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs and document results.
• Identify changes in patient status and notify the RN.
• Reinforce education for patients and families.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and assist orientation of new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to identify and respond to changes in patient status.
