Job summary

OU Health seeks an Experienced RN- Critical Care Stepdown to join our Med Specialty Step Down unit. The RN II provides high-quality nursing care, coordinates with physicians and families, and upholds OU Health’s standards of practice and ethics.

The role requires 3–5 years of RN experience, an active RN license (OK or eNLC), and BLS certification. A nursing degree (ADN/BSN) is required, with specialty certifications preferred to advance proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• RN license Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact (eNLC).
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Specialty certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and physician orders.
• Assists physicians in examinations and minor procedures.
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed.
• Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers competent patient care and seeks coaching when needed.
• Communicates care plans with patients and families at discharge.
• Maintains professional certification and pursues ongoing development.
