Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City seeks an Experienced RN for the Medicine Step Down unit. You will provide direct patient care, administer medications, monitor vitals, and collaborate with physicians and support staff to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

The RN I role emphasizes growing expertise, adherence to professional standards, and contributing to a compassionate team focused on patients first. A BSN/ASN with active RN license and BLS is required; orientation provided.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: 0–3 years of patient care as an RN.
• License: Active RN license (OK State Board or multistate license).
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses and changes to physician orders.
• Assists physicians in examination of patients and minor procedures.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data and intervenes when necessary.
• Delivers medications as prescribed.
• Initiates, regulates and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.
• Resolves patient complaints in a timely manner and collaborates with staff.
