Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Experienced RN for the Critical Care Stepdown unit to work nights in Oklahoma City. You will deliver skilled nursing care, monitor patients with complex conditions, document responses to therapies, and collaborate with physicians and support staff to ensure safe, evidence-based care.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with 3–5 years in patient care and an Oklahoma RN license, BLS, and preferred specialty certification.

Qualifications

General Description: An OU Health Registered Nurse (RN) II works under general supervision and provides nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. They are a critical link within their department in maintaining and modeling nursing practice standards and upholding the nursing code of ethics to ensure the highest quality of safe, patient care. Essential Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician order on assigned patients.
• Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients, and intervenes when necessary.

• Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care competently; seeks coaching and mentoring from others as needed.
• Resolves patient complaints in a timely manner in accordance with policy and in collaboration with support staff.
• Informs patient and family of hospital procedures and shares care plan during the time of care and at the time of discharge.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse required.
• License/Certification/Registration: Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)).
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
• Specialty certification(s) preferred.
