Job summary

South Dakota State Government, Department of Corrections - Correctional Health, Sioux Falls, SD, seeks a Registered Nurse for the night shift (7 p.m.–7:30 a.m.). This full-time position covers 36 hours per week, with every third holiday and possible weekend rotations depending on staffing.

A $10,000 hiring incentive and full state benefits with SDRS retirement are offered. Qualified applicants must hold a current RN license (SD Board of Nursing or eNLC).

Qualifications

• Current, valid Registered Nurse license (SD Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)).

Responsibilities

• Document medical records accurately and timely.
• Provide standardized patient education within nursing guidelines.
• Transcribe reports at change of shifts.
• Preserve confidentiality.
• Provide physical care and treatments, administer medications, and assist with treatment plans.
