Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC, is hiring a Nursing Care Assistant I (CNA) for the Ortho/Neuro unit on the night shift. You will work 12-hour nights with a 7p–7a schedule, under RN/LPN supervision, and assist with direct patient care and unit coordination.

Qualifications

• CNA certification is required for this Nursing Assistant role.
• BCLS certification must be maintained at all times.
• Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
• Take and record vital signs, document data, and inform RN/LPN of changes.
• Assist with activities of daily living, comfort measures, and patient safety.
• Support patient transport, admissions, discharges, and routine tests.
• Maintain unit cleanliness, stock supplies, and participate in professional development.
