Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Nursing Care Assistant I (CNA) for the 4100 General Medicine unit on nights in Durham, NC. The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision, supports routine clinical tasks, and helps maintain a safe, clean patient environment.

Responsibilities include documenting care, assisting with activities of daily living, and contributing to a team-focused care approach.

Qualifications

• No previous work experience required.
• BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by end of new hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
• Obtain and record patient data for medical records and inform RN/LPN of information collected.
• Administer basic care and comfort measures including feeding, bathing, dressing and mobility assistance.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transportation of patients.
• Record vital signs, intake/output and assist with wound care as needed.
• Maintain clean patient areas and stock supplies.
