Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Nursing Care Assistant I (CNA) for the 4100 General Medicine - Nights unit. Work involves direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Eligible CNAs may receive a $5,000 commitment bonus paid in two installments over 12 months. The position requires caring for complex patients with diverse needs in a 31-bed unit, with a 36-hour work week across three 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• No prior work experience required.
• Prior clinical experience preferred.
• Nursing Assistant I certification with NC DHHS required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Take and record vital signs and document in health records.
• Provide basic care including feeding, bathing, grooming, and mobility.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transportation as needed.
• Support RN/LPN and maintain patient comfort and safety.
