Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is hiring a Nurse Assistant to join the hospital team. The NA supports daily living activities and provides compassionate patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Full-time 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week), night shift 6:00pm–6:30am, weekend and holiday rotation. Requirements include Iowa registry or CNA training, high school diploma preferred, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Active on the Iowa registry (required for long term care nurse assistants in Iowa)
• Proof of completion of 75-hour CNA course
• Proof of EMT Certification
• Proof of formally holding (and completed training for) a medical occupation specialty from the military (current or former)
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide holistic, compassionate patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Support physical, emotional, and spiritual needs consistent with MercyOne policies
