The CNA provides routine care, documents in medical records, and collaborates with licensed staff to ensure quality patient outcomes while maintaining efficient unit flow and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS and CNA certification in practice state required for new hires.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, human relations, and communication skills.
• Required ECG/EEG interpretation training or course, or on the job training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and basic hygiene.
• Collect patient data and vital signs; document in EMR.
• Recognize changes in patient health and report to a licensed professional.
• Perform delegated procedures per competency (blood draws, catheter removal, EKGs).
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain patient records and secure charts.
• Manage supplies and equipment; order as needed.
• Assist with patient transport and OR turnover as assigned.
• Work under supervision on a fast-paced, customer-service driven unit.
