Job summary

Banner Health's Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant (CPCA) for the Observation Unit. You will support short-term patient care (6–24 hours) and collaborate with RNs to deliver high-quality care on the night shift, 7pm–7:30am.

The role emphasizes patient comfort, data collection, and efficient unit operations in a Magnet-recognized setting with strong team collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current CNA certification in state of practice required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort and mobility.
• Record vital signs and input/output as part of patient data collection.
• Relate patient status changes to licensed staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform duties using equipment under supervision, including basic procedures.
• Handle receptionist/clerical tasks to support unit operations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure forms are filed.
