Job summary

United Service Companies is seeking a Cargo Supervisor to oversee daily cargo operations at our Houston hub. The role includes supervising staff, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinating with ramp, warehouse, and load planning teams to maintain smooth cargo handling.

The candidate will manage documentation, communicate with customers, and generate performance reports while upholding United’s standards of safety, reliability, and quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/bachelor’s preferred.
• 2+ years of cargo/logistics/airline operations support.
• 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of air cargo procedures, shipment docs (AWB, manifests), and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cargo tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cargo handling personnel and ensure safety adherence.
• Plan resources and assign tasks to meet operational demands.
• Train and mentor staff on best practices and policies.
• Coordinate with ramp, warehouse, and load planning teams for efficient processing.
• Ensure compliance with TSA, FAA, IATA, and U.S. Customs requirements.
• Act as primary customer contact for cargo clients, brokers, and forwarders.
• Maintain cargo tracking and status updates in cargo management systems.
• Generate reports on throughput, documentation accuracy, and service metrics.
• Monitor equipment and facilities; report maintenance needs.
