Job summary

United Airlines, at its Houston (IAH) hub, seeks a Supervisor – Cargo Operations to oversee daily cargo office activities and staff, coordinating with ramp and warehouse teams to ensure safe, compliant handling of inbound and outbound cargo. You will liaise with customers and regulatory bodies, driving service excellence.

Responsibilities include supervising cargo personnel, resource planning, training, and reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of cargo/logistics or airline operations support experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience.
• Working knowledge of air cargo procedures, shipment docs, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office and cargo tracking systems; UC360 familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cargo handling personnel and ensure safety compliance.
• Plan and allocate resources to meet operational demands.
• Train and mentor staff on best practices and policies.
• Coordinate with ramp, warehouse, and load planning teams for efficient processing.
• Ensure adherence to TSA, FAA, IATA and U.S. Customs regulations.
• Serve as primary contact for cargo clients, brokers, and freight forwarders.
• Maintain cargo tracking and status updates in management systems.
• Generate reports on throughput, documentation accuracy and service metrics.
