Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit. This night-shift position (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on Saturdays and Sundays provides direct nursing care for patients recovering from structural cardiac procedures and those with high-risk cardiac conditions, requiring telemetry and skilled nursing interventions.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and active licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
