Haven Behavioral Hospital of Eastern PA in Reading, PA, seeks a Full-time Behavioral Health Technician to support the nursing team and maintain a therapeutic milieu for adults with mental health conditions and co-occurring disorders.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (CNA preferred) and at least 6 months of bedside care. Strong communication, teamwork, and de-escalation skills are essential, with BLS training and adherence to safety protocols emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current CNA certification or 6 months bedside patient care experience preferred.
• Must read, write and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must work well with diverse populations.
• Must be in good physical and mental health and maintain empathy and integrity.
• Must complete BLS and Oceans-approved de-escalation training.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and supports unit rules and safety checks.
• Demonstrates de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Assists with patient care tasks under nursing supervision; records vital signs and observations.
• Communicates patient observations to nursing staff and documents care activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
