Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician for full-time Night shift (36 hours per week), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend. Under RN supervision, you will assist with admissions, discharges and transfers, monitor patients for safety, de-escalate potential aggression and support daily living activities to promote a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer a minimum of two years of college in psychology, social work, mental health or related fields.
• Experience with emotionally disturbed patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows nursing leadership instructions and hospital policies.
• Reports patient medical problems to the Registered Nurse.
• Monitors safety issues and de-escalates when needed and communicates with the RN.
• Provides patient care that supports safety, rights, comfort and a therapeutic environment.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers and completes documentation.
