Job summary

Raleigh Oaks Behavioral Health in Garner, North Carolina seeks an Admissions RN for full-time night shifts (7pm–7:30am) to manage intake, screening, insurance verification and admission assessments.

The role collaborates with medical and psychiatric staff, processes pre-certifications, and maintains documentation while ensuring timely admissions.

BSN preferred with RN license; 1+ year in mental health admissions; strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• One or more years' experience in mental health admissions.
• Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, referral and treatment planning.
• Experience with managed care pre-certification and level of care assessments.
• Strong interpersonal, interviewing and assessment skills; telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients.
• Collaborates with facility staff to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
• Provides coverage for the Call Center Team, handles admission requests and insurance verification.
• Obtains initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission; verifies medical necessity.
• Reviews charts, coordinates orders with physicians, and communicates treatment recommendations.
• Administers medications as directed and ensures safety and documentation.
• Maintains medication accountability and completes adverse reaction forms when needed.
• Ensures accurate documentation for each shift and supports referral processes.
