Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain is seeking an Automation Technician II to install, troubleshoot, and repair automated manufacturing equipment in a distribution/3PL setting. You will support high uptime for robotics, PLCs, and conveyors, conduct preventive maintenance, and lead equipment overhauls while following strict safety standards.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, programming PLCs, and using CMMS to document repair history.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required and 3+ years of industrial maintenance or automation experience.
Intermediate PLC troubleshooting and basic programming.
Ability to work independently and on complex projects.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues/equipment.
Troubleshoot, modify, and program PLCs and robotics, including repair to control arms.
Install, calibrate, and commission new automated equipment.
Utilize HMI to monitor system performance and resolve faults before downtime.
Recognize machine faults and assist operators to restore operation quickly.
Perform scheduled and emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and upgrades.
Document work orders and parts usage in CMMS.
Follow safety protocols including LOTO and OSHA/ANSI standards.
