Job summary

Precisionstaffingusa is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and plant operations. This role troubleshoots equipment, performs preventative and corrective maintenance, installs and commissions new equipment, and supports automation projects to improve productivity, quality, safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, automation experience, and the ability to work

Qualifications

Experience in industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, controls, or plant engineering.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions.
Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and systems.
Ability to read and understand technical documentation, equipment manuals, and drawings.
Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
Ability to make equipment and/or program modifications.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering personnel.

Responsibilities

Identify, troubleshoot, and correct malfunctions with manufacturing and plant equipment.
Monitor equipment operation and performance and make adjustments as needed.
Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues.
Communicate equipment status and maintenance concerns to supervisors and appropriate personnel.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, work requests, and other documentation.
Assist with maintaining facility systems, including phone systems, network/computer cabling, and related equipment.
Provide on-call technical support as needed.
Install, set up, and assist with commissioning new manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
Develop work instructions for new equipment and production processes.
Train production personnel on the proper operation and use of new equipment and systems.
Work with engineering and technical teams to develop, test, and validate manufacturing equipment and processes.
Work with outside suppliers and vendors to obtain parts, equipment, and services.
