Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic manufacturing equipment in Hanover Park, IL. The role involves planning, sequencing, assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing automation equipment under general supervision.

Qualifications include 1–2+ years of troubleshooting automated production equipment, PLC programming, ladder logic, and reading schematics.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years troubleshooting and repairing automated production equipment.
• Associate degree preferred; equivalent technical training/experience considered.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience required.
• Understanding of ladder logic.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated machinery.
• Use of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot automated assembly and robotic equipment.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
• Perform equipment failure analysis and preventative maintenance.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs and ladder logic.
• Create and edit robot programs.
• Read and develop mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
• Set up assembly lines and support pre-production runs.
• Assist with installation and relocation of automated equipment.
• Update manuals, programs, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate reports of repairs and equipment activities.
• Identify improvement opportunities and provide feedback to Engineering.
• Follow safety and quality procedures.
