Job summary

Software Placement Group in Cedarburg, WI seeks a Furnace Melt Operator for 3rd shift (10:00 PM–6:15 AM). This direct-hire role supports continuous molten aluminum production in an ISO-certified foundry and offers career development in a stable, long-tenured workforce.

You will set up and operate melting furnaces, skim impurities, sample and test alloys, perform basic maintenance, and safely move ingots with forklifts.

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years at each prior employer
• Experience operating industrial furnaces and melting aluminum/zinc/magnesium alloys
• Solid mechanical aptitude and basic math for weighing/counting materials
• Ability to operate material handling equipment
• Residence within 45 minutes of Cedarburg, WI
• High School Diploma or GED
• US work authorization without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Set up, load, and operate industrial melting furnaces with raw ingot, sows, and internal scrap metal according to melt specs
• Tap furnaces and skim impurities from molten metal while maintaining temperature and cleanliness
• Pull liquid metal samples, label and submit to metallurgy lab for testing and alloy verification
• Clean furnaces, burner wells, and transfer equipment; perform basic maintenance tasks
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead hoists to move ingots, sows, containers, and finished product
• Record material quantities moved on daily production logs and maintain attendance/quality reporting
• Follow OSHA safety rules, Lockout/Tagout, PPE for hot environments, and 5S standards
