Job summary

BHC Alhambra Hospital in Rosemead, California seeks an Assessment & Referral Call Specialist for night shifts (11:00 pm–7:30 am) with alternating weekends. You will input referrals and patient information, consult with patients, families and staff, and support admissions processing.

The role emphasizes collecting accurate call data, coordinating resources and financial arrangements, and determining appropriate referrals. A AA degree and 2+ years’ mental health experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• AA degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.
• At least two years’ experience in a mental health setting preferred.
• Experience with interviewing, treatment planning, and working with diverse backgrounds preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record accurate caller data: clinical description, referrals, demographics, finances, follow-ups.
• Communicate with patients/families about resources and financial arrangements.
• Respond to calls, assist A&R Counselor/Lead/Shift Supervisor in screening and referrals.
• Process information requests to referral sources.
• Provide requested information and external referrals.
