Universal Health Services (through BHC Alhambra Hospital in Rosemead, CA) is seeking an Assessment & Referral Call Specialist to support admissions by recording referrals, screening callers, and guiding patients and families toward appropriate levels of care.
The role works with Assessment & Referral Counselors, Leads, and Shift Supervisors to triage requests, coordinate resources, and ensure accurate information is entered into the system for timely, compassionate patient access.

The Call Specialist is responsible for assisting in the admissions process by inputting all referrals and patient information in to the computer system, consulting with potential patients, patient families, medical staff and other hospital staff, and communicating with patients and patient families with regard to current assessments, recommended referrals and recommended required levels of care. Assists Assessment and Referral Counselors, Lead, and/or Shift Supervisors to screen, triage, and arrange admissions.

Education: AA Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.
Experience: At least two (2) years' experience in a mental health setting preferred. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in interviewing, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds preferred.
