Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a social services field required (if state allows).
• Master's degree in a related field (psychology, counseling, social work, etc.) or RN preferred.
• One or more years’ experience in mental/behavioral health preferred.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Perform benefit eligibility to ensure patient benefits are active at admission.
• Collaborate with medical/psychiatric staff for referrals.
• Coordinate admission and transfer between levels of care.
• Maintain knowledge of milieu management.
• Communicate projected admissions to internal teams.
• Gather clinical information prior to admission when possible.
• Complete pre-admission assessments and coordinate with physicians.
• Maintain medical record documentation for payor authorization.
• Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
• Admit patients and complete enrollment forms.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, professional attitude toward customers.
• Coordinate care for patients not admitted and ensure follow-up referrals.
• Demonstrate urgency for patient safety and excellent service.
• Ensure safety checks and appropriate supervision as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
