Job summary

RiverValley is seeking an 988 Shift Lead to supervise the crisis line team in Owensboro, KY. The role focuses on guiding crisis responses via calls, texts, and chat, ensuring adherence to procedures and ethical standards.

The position requires 1+ year in crisis or mental health support and a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for a Bachelor's in a related field. In-person, 3rd shift (11:00pm-7:30am) is offered with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or human services preferred.
• At least one year of experience in customer service, crisis intervention, or mental health support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the 988 Center during shift.
• Provide guidance to 988 Specialists in crisis situations and de-escalation.
• Act as point of contact for escalated calls or complex cases.
• Assist with training and ongoing development of staff.
• Ensure smooth shift operation and manage call/chat/text flow.
• Complete incident reports, shift logs, and service reports; provide end-of-shift reports.
• Collaborate with managers and external partners to ensure continuity of care.
• Promote team self-care to prevent burnout and maintain well-being.
• Comply with HIPAA and all confidentiality and professional conduct policies.
• Serve as a fully integrated 988 Specialist when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
