Job summary

YWCA of Western Massachusetts is seeking a Direct Service Advocate for a part-time night shift (Friday/Saturday, 11pm-7am) at our Springfield campus. The role supports residents in shelter settings, provides crisis intervention and counseling, and helps maintain a safe, orderly facility.

Candidates should have an Associate’s degree and 1–3 years in human services, with sensitivity to trauma-informed care. Join a team dedicated to serving survivors of domestic violence and youth through programs

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; 1–3 years in human services preferred.
• Experience working in residential settings is a plus.
• Familiarity with domestic violence issues.
• Commitment to trauma-informed service and confidential practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shelter intakes and crisis intervention as needed.
• Provide counseling to residents during stay.
• Maintain clean and safe facility and complete paperwork.
• Engage residents during meals and oversee chores.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in team coordination.
