Job summary

KG Workforce Solutions, LLC seeks a Shelter Night Advocate to provide night-time support and crisis-informed care for survivors of intimate partner violence in the Midlands of South Carolina. You will help manage shelter operations, document case details, and support residents in developing independent living skills.

The role requires a relevant human services background, the ability to work nights (Fri–Sun, 8pm–8am), and a valid SC driver’s license.

Qualifications

Associate degree in human services or equivalent experience is required.
Experience in human services, preferably with women and children in crisis.
Ability to relate to individuals and groups in a supportive, non-judgmental way.
Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations independently.
Understanding of intimate partner violence and its effects on survivors and children.
Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license and access to a vehicle for work travel.

Responsibilities

Provide support to shelter residents using active listening and supporting their choices.
Manage shelter operations during night hours.
Guide residents in fulfilling household responsibilities to promote independent living.
Restock shelter supplies for operations.
Maintain security of the shelter.
Document information in residents' case files.
Cover during emergency absences.
Attend 12 hours of Victim Service Provider training annually.
Enter direct service time into the client database per policy.
